• What's in my closet: Wedding Attire

Happy February, Fashionistas! With Valentine’s Day coming up, I feel it is best to prepare myself for the annual photo flood of engagement rings across all of my social media accounts. With engagements, comes weddings (most of the time). Dressing properly for a wedding can be tricky. There are all sorts of rules and guidelines as to what a person should wear during the time of day, season, and “type” of wedding. And sometimes living in south Mississippi doesn’t help. The ever changing weather is enough to drive a person mad, but I digress.

  • What's in my Closet: Skincare Edition

Hello and Happy New Year, fashionistas! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. With it being the new year, I wanted to shake things up a bit and start this month with something a little different to what I have normally done in the past. I’d like to take this month’s piece and focus on one thing… skincare. Yes, you read that correctly. This month, I am going to give you guys a breakdown of what skincare products I use and what they are specifically used for, as well as go through my daily and nightly skincare routine.

  • What's In My Closet: 'Tis the Season

‘Tis the season, friends! It’s time to decorate the tree and hang the stockings with care. But, wait…Wasn’t it just summer? How is Christmas already here? This year has flown by. With the holiday season upon us, whether we want to admit it or not, it’s time to do some shopping.

  • What’s in my Closet: Fashion items I am Thankful For

I wasn’t sure where to start when writing this. Some days inspiration hits and I picture myself looking like Stephen King writing his next great thriller. You know; crazed looks and fingers moving so swiftly across the keyboard that everything around you becomes hazy and 100 percent of your focus is on writing. Some days I have to sit in my bedroom with the closet door open and stare into what seems to be a pit of black clothing.

  • What's In My Closet: Game Day Edition

Open my closet and you will notice one thing right off the bat… LOTS of black. It has always been a favorite color of mine, and I feel like I can do so much with it. Thankfully, my alma mater’s colors are black and gold (Southern Miss To The Top!), so I already had a nice stockpile of black clothing to choose from.  With football season in full swing, and local boutiques stocking up on the cutest game day attire, it’s hard not to want to buy one of everything in the stores.

  • What's in Her Closet? Fall Wardrobe Staples

Grab your Pumpkin Spice Latte and light your favorite Fall scented candle, folks. My favorite season is slowly approaching and I could not be more excited! While fall weather in the south doesn’t really start until the end of October, I have decided to take a peek into my closet in order to prepare. Let’s take a look…

  • What's in His Bag?

If you haven’t guessed by now, this month’s issue is dedicated to men (cue “Let’s Hear It for the Boy”). I asked Dapper Dozen alum Tyner Sullivan for his go-to essentials. I knew he had good taste, and I wasn’t wrong: He sent a list full of brands I personally love, and I think you guys would, too. Let’s take a look…

    1. Watch
When a man gets dressed, he puts on a watch. I personally love the Unisex Timex Weekender Fairfield watch. $75

  • what’s in my carry on?

Summer is upon us. If you’re anything like me, you have been bitten by the travel bug something serious. I get stir crazy in the summer and chances are I am trying to get as far away from the South as possible. So, aside from the obvious TSA requirements, what are some of my other summer travel essentials? Let’s take a look.

  • Elizabeth Porter: SUPER MOM & WONDER  WOMAN

She’s a single woman and a local attorney. He’s a blonde-haired, 17-month-old little boy who likes to climb on the furniture and loves a good book about tractors.

Their story is an unlikely one, but one that was written in the stars.

Two years ago, Hattiesburg attorney Elizabeth Porter was focused on her growing private practice and her work as a public defender for Forrest County.

She had already spent two years working as an assistant district attorney and despite having achieved much in her young career, Porter still longed for something more.

  • What's in my bag?

With football season in full swing, it’s time to put away your everyday handbag, and break out the clear one. Shoutout to Eve Marie’s boutqiue here in Hattiesburg for helping me find the perfect one! So, what are some of my game day essentials?

    Let’s start here...

    1. PEN AND PAPER
Yes, I carry a notebook and pen with me wherever I go. I’m an Art Director, so when inspiration hits, I am reaching in my bag and grabbing for these little beauties. I’m partial to Rifle Paper Co. and their designs. You can purchase yours at riflepaperco.com for $15
